Welcome to the Summer Term!

Welcome back to school JCR!

It's lovely to be back at school for the start of the Summer Term. We've had a fantastic first week and have been very busy. The lovely weather has made the outdoor area very popular and we have had some fantastic den building and construction outside.

This term our topic is Seeds and Growing Things.

Here are some things we will be learning:

Maths: Numbers to 10 and how they are made. Adding more and taking away. Shapes and manipulating shapes.

RE: Why is the word God important to Christians?

Phonics: recapping phase 3 and starting phase 4 phonics

Knowledge and understanding of the world: Watching Caterpillars turn into butterflies. Life cycles. What do seeds need to grow? The seasons.

PSED: healthy eating. Respecting the beliefs and opinions of others.

PE: Football skills

We are hoping to get a visit from and expert gardener too!

PE will be on a Tuesday afternoons and Forest School will be on Thursday afternoons. Please remember trousers MUST be worn for forest school no matter what the weather.

If you need to know anything or have any questions please contact me via the office or speak to me after school.

Autumn term 2!

November 2020

Welcome back JCR! The children have quickly settled back into school and are enjoying our new topic ‘traditional tales’. Last week we looked at the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and acted out the story using masks. The children loved this and are still re-enacting the story... This week The Little Red Hen...

In maths we are working on developing a deep understanding of the numbers 1,2,3 and looking at shapes.

in phonics we will be continuing our work on phase 2 learning more sounds and developing blending and segmenting skills.

At forest school the children will be looking at changes and patterns. They have already created firework art and made video sound effects... We also made firework paintings inside using brightly coloured paint, a fork and lots of glitter!

In RE we will be learning about the Nativity story and why it is important to Christians.

in December we will be focusing on Christmas!

keep up to date with everything we get up to on Tapestry.
