Home Learning 18th February 2022

Choose some of the activities from the English booklet to keep you busy today. There is a code breaker activity for maths, working on place value. Choose one of the timetable sheet to do for fluency.

If you would like to do any additional maths, please log in to mathletics. I have assigned some activities for you.

Watch the video via the link below on how to use semi-colons in your writing and take the quiz to check your understanding.

Why not join Joe Wicks for PE with Joe, taken from lockdown last year.

JC6 Class Page

We are looking forward to an exciting K-Nex workshop this term, along with making our own Christmas cakes.

This term we will be starting our Geography unit and learning about Global trade including Viking trade routes and then, Fairtrade. We will be continuing to learn about Living Things and their Habitats in Science. Our Christian Value is compassion. Look for the value postcards to come home. We love to hear about how the children are using our Christian Values outside of school.

As the seasons are clearly changing, please ensure that your child has a warm, waterproof coat in school every day.

Class routines

Year 6 should come to school on Friday mornings wearing their PE Kits. They should have their school uniform with them to change into at the end of PE.

Homework

Times table and spelling homework will be given out on Monday each week. These need to be brought back in to school every Friday please.

Year 6 should read every evening for 15 minutes. At least once a week, this should be reading with an adult and reading journals should be signed.

Children should complete one of the reading activities in their reading journal twice a term as a minimum. I always love to see the activities should your child wish to do more. We also have a reading scrapbook that all of the children will have the opportunity to take home and complete a page should they wish.
