Girls Floorball

The St James & Ebrington girls' team played just one match tonight (21st January), their other opponents having had problems raising a team. This match was, in fact two 'second leg' contests, the 'first legs' having been played in November. At that time the girls were left 0-2down against the CCS 'A' squad, but were at 0-0 with the CCS 'B' team. Piper Rushby (twice) and StJEB old girl Isla Weeks-Coleman cemented a 5-0 overall win for the senior school's 'A' Team. Yvie Collins was also in the CCS team and was always ready to pick up the rare rebound from Darcy Bays in goal. Against CCS 'B' it was a very different picture. Bays kept a clean sheet, whilst Tia Moore netted a hat trick at the other end. This 3-0 win lifts the team up the table, level with holders Bourton on the Water, who have a game in hand. Ilmington sit on top of the group, just two points clear.

Next week (28th January) the girls will play Bourton on the Water and Mickleton, after which there should be a better idea about who has qualified.

On 4th February the 'A' Team will need to play a semi final against an as yet unknown opponent.
