  • Mini House Rounders

    Tue 19 Jun 2018
Today JC4 and JC5 had a Mini House Rounders competition down at the rec. Girls and boys played separately for their houses with 4 rounders games going on at once. After the group stages it was a Dovers vs Westington final with house captains selecting 4 girls and 4 boys to best represent their house. With the scores tied at 3 rounders each and only one batter left, Evie stepped up and hit a whole rounder, what a cracker! Making Dovers house champions 2018!

  • KS1 Tag Rugby

    Mon 18 Jun 2018

It was a joy to watch 33 Y1-2 pupils playing competitive tag rugby against Longborough. 5 teams all battled hard in the round robin with some superb tries scored. Longborough left unbeaten so congratulations to them!

A big thank you to the 14 year 5 Sports Leaders who ran the event with passion and enthusiasm.

  • Opportunity Floorball

    Wed 13 Jun 2018

A floorball tournament was held at CCS on 13th June 2018. It was organised by Ben Daldry of St James & Ebrington for about thirty youngsters who do not generally get into their schools' representative teams.

A small CCS girls' team also attended and had a successful evening, winning all three matches.

CCS Girls 1-0 St James & Ebrington

(Ruby Farrell scored the only goal in a very tight game)

    CCS Girls 2-0 Ilmington

(Abi Riddell opened the scoring and Olivia Peachey netted on the power play. Timmy Goble of Ilmington saved a penalty shot)

CCS Girls 5-1 St Catharines (Olivia Peachey scored two early goals, then Luca Aquino made it 2-1. Casey Teagle, Ruby Farrell and Peachey sealed it for CCS.)

St Catharines 0-0 St James & Ebrington (Two strong defences dominated.)

St Catharines 1-1 Ilmington (Alex Raeburn for Ilmington, then Luca Aquino for St Catharines.)

Ilmington 1-0 St James & Ebrington (Lewis Challinor with a very late power play goal.)

Apart from the one match where the girls really found their form all the matches were really close, Ilmington coming out as the top primary team.

In the friendly match after the main tournament the result was

    Ilmington/St Catharines 2-0 St James & Ebrington/CCS.

Philippe Parr and Alex Raeburn scored the goals. Jack Gadsby and Timmy Goble both kept clean sheets during their spells in goal .

Finn Spencer was proclaimed 'Player of the Tournament' for being unbeatable in the Ilmington defence.
